Sacred Heart offers online summer school classes in English

for Sacred Heart and Non-Sacred Heart students in the Quebec youth sector (females and males).

All summer school classes will be available online and each student can go at their own pace. Courses are asynchronous. Some courses have a final Ministry or in-school exam, which is written in person at Sacred Heart. Furthermore, students have an assigned teacher to grade all evaluations, provide feedback, and offer support.

All students should upload their most recent report card with their registration form. Students taking course(s) for credit must also upload their English eligibility certificate. Students must indicate whether they wish to register for the Ministry exam.

Please read the cancellation policy & course guidelines. All course fees include a $50 exam proctoring and administration fee.

Course dates: July 29th to August 16th
Deadline to register: July 26th

Exam: No exam. Fully Independent Course.

This Math course is a review of all grade 5 and 6 concepts which are foundational in preparation for high school math. All material provided.

*Tips and strategies for High School Math will be provided.

Registration is $449 for students enrolled at SHSM and $499 for non SHSM students.

Who should take this class:

  • Students going into grade 6 who wish to review and preview math content.
  • Students starting high school next August who wish to prepare and review key foundational concepts.

Course dates: July 22nd - August 16th 
Deadline to register: July 17th, 2024

Exam: Friday, August 16th at 8:30AM - 12PM

This math course covers all required units, topics, homework and evaluations. The course requires an approximate 100 hour commitment. All materials are provided.

Registration is $549 for SHSM students and $599 for non SHSM students.

Who should take this class:

  • Students who have been recommended summer school for Sec. III math.
  • Sec. II (grade 8) students wishing to preview the Sec. III math course to increase their success rate. Exam optional. 
  • Sec. III (grade 9) students who wish to solidify and review their math concepts prior to starting Sec. IV (grade 10).

Course dates: June 25th to July 26th
Deadline to register: June 19th, 2024 to get access by June 25th | Late registration ends:  July 8th 

Ministry Exam: Monday, July 29th (Ministry Exam), 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. in person at Sacred Heart.

Unlike other summer programs, this math course covers all required units, topics, and homework questions to prepare students for the final Ministry of Quebec Evaluation. The course requires an approximate 100 hour commitment. All materials are provided.

-Registration is $549 for SHSM students and $599 for non SHSM students.

-In-person exam preparation day optional add-on. Ministry Exam Practice: July 26th (AM), $100 additional fee.

Who should take this class:

  • Students in Sec. III (grade 9) who wish to prepare for Sec. IV (grade 10) math over the summer.
  • Students who are missing credits.

Course dates: June 25th - July 26th
Deadline to register: June 19th, 2024 to get access by June 25th | Late registration ends: July 8th

Ministry Exam: Monday, July 29th at 8:30AM - 12PM in person at Sacred Heart

Unlike other summer bridge programs, this math course covers all required units, topics, and homework questions to prepare students for the final Ministry of Quebec Evaluation. The course requires an approximate 100 hour commitment. All materials are provided.

-Registration is $549 for SHSM students and $599 for non SHSM students

-In-person exam preparation day optional add-on. Ministry Exam Practice: July 26th (PM), $100 additional fee.

*Please note: Students are responsible for ensuring their current schools will recognize the results obtained over the Summer as pre-requisite for advanced courses at their school. 

Who should take this class:

  • Students in Sec. III who wish to prepare for Sec. IV math over the summer.
  • Students needing the course prerequisite.
  • Students who are missing credits.

Course dates: June 25th - July 26th
Deadline to register: June 19th to get access by June 25th | Late registration ends July 8th.

Exam: Thursday, August 1st at 8:30AM - 12PM

The complete Sec. IV EST Science course includes all the units, topics and homework questions to prepare students taking Physics and Chemistry Secondary V courses. This course will provide the pre-requisite course and credits needed to pursue the sciences in Sec. V. 

Registration for this course is $449 for SHSM students and $499 for non SHSM students

*Please note: Non SHSM students should provide a recommendation letter from their advisor, along with their registration.

Who should take this class:

  • Students needing the course prerequisite.
  • Students who are missing credits.

Course dates: July 2nd to July 26th
Deadline to register: June 26th to have access by July 2nd | Late registration ends July 8th

Exam: Thursday, August 1st 8:30AM - 12PM

This math course covers all required units, topics, and homework questions to prepare students for the final exam evaluation. The course requires an approximate 100 hour commitment. All materials are provided.

Registration is $549 for SHSM students and $599 for non SHSM students.

*Please note: Students are responsible for ensuring that the school they will be attending next year will recognize the results obtained over the Summer as a
prerequisite for advanced courses at their institution.

Who should take this class:

  • Students in Sec. IV who wish to prepare for Sec. V Science Option math
    over the summer.
  • Sec V students who are graduating and going to a Post-secondary institution
  • Students in the Youth Sector needing the course prerequisite.

Course dates: July 2nd - July 26th
Deadline to register: June 26th, 2024 to have access by July 2nd | Late registration ends July 8th.

Ministry Exam: Tuesday, July 30th, 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. in person at Sacred Heart. 

The Sec. IV History of Quebec and Canada course includes all the units, topics and homework questions to prepare students for the final Ministry of Quebec Evaluation.

-Registration for this course is $549 for SHSM students and $599 for non SHSM students.

-In person exam preparation day optional add-on. Ministry exam practice: July 24th, $100 additional fee.

Who should take this class:

  • Students in Sec. III who wish to prepare for Sec. IV material over the summer.
  • Students who are missing credits.

Students taking course(s) for credit must also upload their English eligibility form.

  • All lectures, content, worksheets, practice and videos are pre-recorded and students move through the course at a pace suggested by their classroom teacher. This includes watching videos, completing homework assignments and online assessments.
  • There is no live teaching. There is a course instructor who corrects assessments and provides feedback on those assessments.
  • Weekly virtual office hours and further support is available upon request.
  • Final in-person evaluations at Sacred Heart may be required in some courses in place of ministry exams if students are taking the courses for credit.
  • All ministry exams are taken in-person at Sacred Heart, at a date and time set by the ministry. 
  • Cancellations made within 48 hours of activation of the course will be reimbursed in full.
  • Cancellations made after 48 hours and within 7 days of activation of the course will be reimbursed less a $150 administrative fee.
  • Refunds WILL NOT be issued once your course has been activated for more than 7 days.
  • Cancellation requests must be made by email to [email protected]
  • It takes 2 business days from registration to receive access to the learning platform.
  • All classes will be available on-line and a suggested pace will be provided by the course teacher.
  • Students are required to have access to the internet with the use of a personal device (such as an iPad, laptop, or computer).
  • Students need access to a printer to print evaluations written at home.
  • The school reserves the right to cancel any course if there is insufficient enrollment.
  • Final results will be communicated to the student’s school via email.
