New Auditorium Design

The Sacred Heart School of Montreal is proud to announce the design of its new auditorium. It will have a 325-seat capacity with sloped theatre style set-up.  The stage is 60 percent larger than the school’s current facility. This new space will include a new 1,500 sq. ft. music classroom with two practice rooms and much needed storage space for band instruments. The new design will allow for an additional 10 linear feet of space in the Dining Hall. It will also have state-of-the-art acoustics and projection capabilities.

The auditorium will also have a large open gathering space able to accommodate students in the day and group receptions during the evening. The facility will also be provided free of charge to Catholic Community groups, as needed. The intended use of the new auditorium is for student productions and rehearsals including Christmas Wishes, DASHABUSTADD, the annual drama production and school-wide events such as FIGAs and General Assemblies.  The new space is going to provide a new home for  music performances and rehearsals, special guest speakers and the school’s annual year-end Convocation and Prizes.

After a careful study by the Board of Directors and its Facilities Committee, it was decided to locate the new auditorium where the current Reception Room and Study Hall exist.  Not to worry, the Study Hall’s Mater will be lovingly relocated to another public area of the school. Furthermore, the contribution of those who have adopted a desk will be honoured.

The auditorium is part of the Capital Campaign and the ground breaking is scheduled for next summer. If you would like to contribute to this wonderful project, please click on the following LINK.
