Teachers: The Real Influencers, Everyday
One of my go-to conversation starters during dinner parties is, "Share with us the story of your favourite teacher." No matter where we are from, no matter how old we are, and no matter our current job, everyone remembers that one educator who made a major impact on their lives.
In my case, it was Miss Rose, my soft-spoken and perpetually smiling first-grade teacher. Back then, I thought I had an exclusive membership as her favorite student. Looking back, it's pretty clear we all had front-row seats in that special club. She possessed a unique ability to make each of us feel valued and significant. Miss Rose's impact and the joy she infused into my learning experience ignited in me a profound love for school for which I will be forever grateful.
In the buzzing world of learning in schools, where ideas lay the groundwork and inspiration sets the tone, teachers take the lead, expertly shaping the well-rounded growth of our future leaders. Yet, in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, the profound impact of these educators can sometimes be overlooked. Though Teacher Appreciation Week conventionally takes place in February, it feels pertinent to highlight the importance of educators right now.
