The Heart of Giving - House Challenge is Sacred Heart’s first annual Giving Day House Challenge. It is an exciting, community-driven event where participants from the 8 different Sacred Heart houses will compete and raise funds for The Heart Fund. The event encourages friendly competition, engagement, and contributions from the Sacred Heart School of Montreal community, all while supporting our mission and students.

Giving Day is a 24-hour celebration of The Sacred Heart School of Montreal that highlights our culture of giving. It provides an opportunity for members of the Sacred Heart community to support the school, our mission, and our students. This dedicated effort profoundly impacts the lives of our students, faculty, and the wider community. The Heart of Giving - House Challenge takes place during this special event, amplifying the impact of your donations!

Giving Day is a 24-hour celebration that officially begins on May 20th at 12 AM and ends exactly 24 hours later. If you wish to donate towards Giving Day once the 24-hours is over, simply contact Julie Timmins Dalfen at [email protected].

The funds raised through The Heart of Giving – House Challenge will go directly to Sacred Heart’s Heart Fund. Every gift to The Heart Fund provides vital resources that sustain what makes Sacred Heart so distinctive. Your support directly strengthens our priorities this year—enhancing academic programs, advancing initiatives that enrich student life, providing financial aid to ensure access, and supporting the growth and development of our dedicated faculty and staff.

Yes! You can make a donation before the official start date, and your gift will still count towards your house's total points. To donate before May 20th 12 AM, simply contact Julie Timmins Dalfen at [email protected].

Thank you for your support! Gifts made earlier in the year that were not part of the Giving Day event will not be counted in The Heart of Giving Challenge. However, we welcome any additional contributions made during the Giving Day window to help us reach our goal and support the challenge.

Great news! There is no minimum amount you can donate - every penny counts. Yes, all donations made during The Heart of Giving - House Challenge are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Donations over $20 are eligible for a charitable tax receipt, which you will receive via email once your contribution is processed.

You can contribute to the challenge through the donation form or a cheque payable to the City House Foundation and mail to: 3635 Atwater Ave, Montreal, QC, H3H 1Y4 or drop off at Sacred Heart, to the attention of Julie Timmins Dalfen. We aim to make giving as easy as possible, so you can choose the method that works best for you.

This year’s Heart of Giving – House Challenge includes three exciting, connected competitions happening at the same time. No matter how you participate, every gift counts toward your House and our community goal.

The House Challenge is the main competition and includes the entire Sacred Heart community — students, families, alums, faculty, staff, and friends.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps your House move closer to victory.

The Alum Decades Challenge is a friendly competition for alums, organized by graduating decade — from the 1950s through the 2020s.

• Participation-based
• Each alum donation counts as one participant for their graduating decade
• The decade with the most donors wins

All alum gifts also count toward:

• Your House total
• The overall community goal
• Bragging rights!

The Grade Challenge is for current students and families in Secondary I through Secondary V.

• Dollar-based competition
• Measured relative to the size of each grade
• The grade with the highest overall impact wins a FULL FREE DRESS WEEK

In addition:
If a grade reaches 100% participation (every student/family gives) they earn a FREE DRESS DAY. Every grade has a chance to win!

All grade donations still:

• Count toward the House Challenge
• Count toward the community participation goal
