Welcome to new team members!


As our school admissions continues to increase steadily, we are happy to welcome the following new members to our Sacred Heart Team:

Residence Life

 Ms. Yvonne Pledger is our new Director of Residence Life and member of the senior administrative team. Ms. Pledger is an experienced educator, with over 20 years in administration in International schools in South Korea, China, Hong Kong and Botswana. Originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland, she has spent most of her career overseas, as an Assistant Head of School, Deputy Principal, and Curriculum Coordinator. She has lived and worked at two Boarding schools and brings a wealth of experience with her. Yvonne, her husband Mike and their three-year-old daughter Jia are thrilled to be back in Canada and a part of the Sacred Heart family.
Ms. Sarah Turcotte, class of 2012, is joining the Residence Life team as a full-time advisor. Ms. Turcotte graduated with a B.A. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Concordia University where she was on the Dean’s List and Honour Roll. While at Sacred Heart, she was highly regarded by Faculty – we are glad to have her back on our team!
Ms. Liezl Lee, class of 2008, will assume the duties of part-time Residence Life Advisor. She comes to us with a wealth of volunteer experience, including Big Brothers, Big Sisters of West Island. She credits Sacred Heart for instilling in her the joy of giving back to the community. Ms. Lee graduated with a B.A. Major in Sociology and holds a Certificate in Family Education, both from Concordia University.


A new member to the French department, Mme. Kristina Lisak, holds a Masters in Teaching from l’Université de Montréal and a B.A. from the University of Zagreb, Croatia. She previously taught at Beaconsfield High School.
Ms. Alyssa Trifonopolous, E.S.L. teacher and sister of Angeliki ’18, is a Queen of Angels Academy graduate. She holds a B.Ed. in English Language Arts from McGill University and is devoted to community service work including teaching Sunday School. Ms. Trifonopoulos previously taught at Lauren Hill Academy.
 Ms. Carla Hascour També, has been a Math teacher with the EMSB for the past few years. Ms. També previously taught at Sacred Heart during Mr. Friedmann’s paternity leave. She holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, a Masters of Art in Teaching and Learning and has extensive Middle Eastern experience.
 Ms. Catherine Gautreau, another Newfoundlander, joins our team! Ms. Gautreau will be teaching Music as Mrs. Waldbrook finishes her maternity leave. She holds two Bachelors, Music and Music Education.
