Golf Raises $75,000 for Capital Campaign!
Yet another record-breaking year for the Sacred Heart School of Montreal Golf Tournament! The 18th annual event raised $75,000 for The future at heart Capital Campaign, going toward the new auditorium, wellness centre, and other important renovations to the learning environment of our students. Thank you to everyone who participated either as a golfer, a diner, a sponsor, a donor, a bidder, or a volunteer! Together, we are ensuring that current and future generations of Sacred Heart girls have a safe, modern, and nurturing environment to flourish in!
This year’s tournament was held on Friday, May 31 at Club de Golf Saint-Raphaël. Eighty-three golfers and 103 dinner guests joined us on a cool but rain-less day, along with 8 parent, faculty, and alumnae volunteers. Brunch in the clubhouse was sponsored by Groupe Montoni, and followed by 18 holes of golf played Vegas-style. Our two snack bars were well stocked with porchetta, donated by Frank & Angelo Gallo; bagel sandwiches, donated by Vince Morena of St. Viateur Bagels; cake and cannolis, from Lafrenaie; as well as other refreshments. Each golf cart was supplied with water bottles sponsored by Canadian Immigration Law Firm, and a sleeve of balls donated by R.C. Coull Insurance Inc.
A delicious 3-course dinner, sponsored by ALRE Properties Inc., was followed by the announcement of the raffle prize winners, the silent auction highest bidders, and the golf prizes. Tables were decorated with beautiful flower arrangements generously donated by Sofia Muzzo ’90 of Fleuriste Jules d’Alcantara.
The City House Cup, awarded to the best overall foursome, went to longtime supporter Laurent Kanemy; his son Dominic; President of the Montreal Impact, Kevin Gilmore; and CFO of the Montreal Impact, Salvatore Rivera.
The Founders Cup, awarded to the best alumnae foursome, went to reigning champions Mary Ann Advincula ’91; Maureen Brown ’80; Tara Durley ’85; and Rosemary Vaupshas ’78.
